Since opening in 1997 the Simon Houlding Upholstery workshop which resides in Heybridge Essex, has transformed from a somewhat cosy space to span over 5 of the units at the Home Farm Industrial Business Park and includes an upholstery workshop to accommodate 4 upholsterers, a separate curtain room for 3 curtain makers, two incredible showrooms and a pattern book room with an extensive range of fabrics.
The showroom for the upholstery and curtain workshops has been designed with an industrial feel. The aged brick wall supports original Crittall windows, restored to bare metal with the panes of glass replaced by mirrors. The windows are adorned by curtains made from luxurious fabrics.
Accessible from Stock Chase is a warehouse style showroom which is soon to showcase our own furniture range. We are looking forward to introducing The Green Suitcase Co. collection of furniture designed by upholsterers to be stylish and built to last. Each piece will be bespoke made to dimensions to fit the space for which it is intended and in the customer’s choice of fabric from our vast library. Included in the collection will be original iconic vintage furniture such as the GPlan Sixty Two fully restored and ready to wow!
